The music from the orient has expierenced a complete change of image in the
last years; more and more people from the WEST start to delight with this style
of music.
After an annual creative break fore research we are continuing our
expeditions. For the third time Soulstar Records undertakes an excursion into
the fascinating world of oriental sound. Well known and appreciated big names,
like the Algerian superstar Rachid Taha, the Iranian legend Ilham al-Madfai, the
Turkish singer Nazan Öncel (here in a duet with the pop-icon Tarkan), the master
of PianOriental Maurice El Médioni, the Greek Pop-Diva Anna Vissi and the
anglo-asian soundartist Bally Sagoo meet newcomers like the Persian Band Khak
from Mannheim, the oriental-HipHop-act 08001 from Barcelona or the Serbian
rapper Selek from Vienna. Further on you bump into names which are completely
unknown in the West, but top-stars for a long time in their native countries,
like for example the cult band Deyirman from Azerbaijan, Wael Kfoury from the
Lebanon or the Big Taarab Orchestra Culture Club of Zanzibar.
The tracklisting of this double-cd includes many more artists who almost
don`t have any fears of combing the traditional stylistic devices with modern
sounds. Like the two first parts of the series, „Oriental Garden Vol. 3“ comes
in an attractive double-digipac. Disc 1 , the „Kismet Lounge“ (Kismet: Destiny)
is dedicated to the more relaxing variations of modern „oriental music“. Disc 2,
the „Raks ’n Roll“ (Raks: Dance) aims as usual merciless to the dancingfeet.
„Oriental Garden Vol. 3“ was, like the two former releases, professionally and
confidently compiled and mixed by the famous Djane Gülbahar Kültür (Radio
Funkhaus Europa / Cologne) .
